3 Millennial Planners: A Lively Talk Show on New Ways of Regulating Land Use and Built Form
Very excited to announce I will be speaking at the CIP/API Navigation Conference in my hometown Halifax, NS this summer. I will be presenting with two of my millennial planning pals Teaka Broughm and Kendra Raymond on new ways of regulating land use and built form. We are designing a talkshow style session based on our experiences on working Land Use Bylaws that move away from the Euclidean approach. Below is a description of our session:
Traditional land use regulation can have adverse impacts on human health, the environment, economic growth, and social progress. In a live talk show-style panel and fun interactive setting, three millennial planners from the Alberta cities of Beaumont, Leduc, and Fort Saskatchewan will explore emerging approaches and lessons learned applying zoning tools that build more resilient, diverse, adaptable, inclusive, welcoming, and complete communities.
