About Lyndsay

Lyndsay believes we do our best work when we bring our true selves into our roles. By day Lyndsay works in communities creating and implementing planning policies and by night building social community through events, fundraisers, and drag performances. Merging their lived experience as a queer person and professional experience as a Planner, Lyndsay aims to inspire other Planners to incorporate a 2SLGBTQ+ inclusive lens into their practice.

Lyndsay holds a Bachelor of Community Design with honours in Urban Design Studies from Dalhousie University. Lyndsay is a Registered Professional Planner with 8 years’ experience working in both the private and public sectors on projects such as regional plans, Municipal Development Plans, Area Structure Plans, Land Use Bylaws, Equity Diversity & Inclusion Frameworks, and subdivisions. Lyndsay has worked in both rural and urban contexts in the Edmonton Metropolitan Region and surrounding areas.

Lyndsay is of mixed heritage both European settler and Mi’kmaw and is originally from Mi’kma’ki (Dartmouth, Nova Scotia), the unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq people. Lyndsay is now living and working in Treaty Six Territory (Edmonton, Alberta) the territory of the Cree, Dene, Blackfoot, Salteaux, Métis, and Nakota Sioux.
